i believe that god is real and evolution is fake, because if evolution is real why isnt it happening now? and no its not happening for people that think it is, the closest thing to evolution right now in the world is cross-breeding which people mistake for evolution. For example, if humans evolved from apes, why are there still apes nowadays? Science says that when evolution occurs, ALL the type of that species dissapear, which it hasnt.

I believe that if your home has more miles than your car, you might be a redneck.

Sorry, had to say it . But really, I believe that there is more than one true god. Hindus FTW!

i was supposed to be a christian at first.
i left because i couldnt believe anything that the preachers were preaching.
everyone one of them was different and if they are all in the same religion, they should be preaching the same ideas. well in my opinion i feel thats how it should be.

i personally feel some religions were made to comfort and improve peoples lives. of all the christians i met (i rarely see catholics and other religions sadly) they seem so dependant in god. they cant seem to depend on themselves. and whenever they are depressed or stressed, they tend to take it out on their god, as if it was all his fault in the first place.

well i dont know, i guess the environment i'm in is just really screwed up.

I believe I might be the weirdest person here. I belong to my own religeon, which consists of 2 people, me and a friend.

We call it CLAP, a combo of our initials. I'll lay down a basic outline.

This is kind of a mixture of many religeons, certian parts from certian ones.

From Christianity: We believe Jesus died on the cross, although we do not believe in a said "God" (we believe he is simply a 'security blanket' if you will, something that tells you everything will be fine in the end.).

From Hinduism: We very greatly think there is a reincarnative force that lets you live again if you would choose.

A Mixture of Other Things We Believe May Have Happened/May Be: We very, very strongly, probably above the rest, that there are things we cannot explain with our current knowledge. We believe there is an afterlife, of some sorts, and that people come back as ghosts to serve a purpose yet undone, or to see that someone else goes safely through life.

We have to say, too, that we are most likely not the only things in this universe. From what we have seen, every 'myth' stems from one truth or another. I'll go into a bit more detail here:

-Something HAD to have jumpstarted our technology. Look at the ancient Greeks. They had immense knowledge of architectural advantages way-back-when, that other cultures couldn't even of thought of posessing (not to mention that they were a very well educated race of people.).

-Again, I must say, every 'myth' stems from truth. We would have never thought up 'mythical' creatures if something hadn't've been there to put it in our heads.

-Backing up to what I said about ghosts for a moment. Have you ever thought that something was there, but it wasn't? That you saw something out of the corner of your eye, but couldn't exactly figure out what it was? One word for you, if you have: spirits.

I'll take this to a little more personal level. When I was little I had a dog that I loved very much. He died of cancer about five years ago. After his passing, if I moved my head too fast, or walked past his favorite spot, looking back out of the corner of my eye, he was there. I can only say that yes, these things do exist.

Baisic overview of what we believe, kkthxbye.

@Dood: Yes, Jeff Foxworthy.

lol, i think if i'de have to choose a specific religion, its going to be Buddhism. Buddhism there is no "god" you just do the right things, and also you respect other religions. Which brings up another case that, (example) Hindus believe that Hindu is the correct religion and others are fake or Christianity think it's the right religion for others.

I am atheist. I have been this way for about 4-5 years now. I just don't believe that there can be someone that supposedly created us all and now he just watches us kill each other. I mean that doesn't make any sense to me. Also people have always told me that envy is a sin. If that is true then that means jealousy is a sin. Because envy=jealousy. In the bible it says that god is a jealous god. So how can someone be perfect if they themselves have sinned. Please give me your thoughts about these topics, seeing as they make no sense to me.

I am not trying to flame anyone i just simply had questions that i asked. so please mods do not close this thread.

I'll further my thoughts alittle to get the thread back on track. Too many people trying to discuss now in this topic. Religion isnt something that can be discussed or intelligently argued out. You think your right or you think your wrong.

Now, mood lightening

I Beleive:
- You'll find loopholes and errors in all religous thinking.
- You'll find loopholes and errors in anything you aren't completely devoted too.
I mean..This is why religion isn't discussable..Unless you wholy beleive something you'll find fault in it (goes for anything). Why do we not question "understood" things? Becuase we were tought that they are right - so we trust that they are. This is where 99% of "religious" types come from. Their parents were [whatever religion], as were their parents parents.

- I have just as much to say about anti-religous ideals.

Anti-religous thoughts dont come from educated studies, they come from common factors like "I'm a teenager rebeling against my mom, so i'm going to spike my hair and say her religion sucks", or it is as simple as "Religion requires you to go to chruch...I like sleeping in on Sundays". Its "in" to not be "in" among teenagers now.

I'll shut up alittle longer again now.

i believe that ppl should be good not because of a unknown father figure pointing a finger at you saying you do that i'll spank you. but because you want too and it's the right thing to do

wars over religions are a joke when for the most part all of them have one thing in commen killing is a sin.

forcing nuns and priests into celibacy is a stupid thing to do and it leads to the rapes of kids.

people need to get over their selfs and think about their fellow man the hole world will be better off cause of it and so will you

if god exists he didn't make us he just lit the spark of life

if he doesn't than we are just one of the lucky planets that the flame of life took too

Just as a reminder, I do not want this to turn into a flame war. Please do not say what you think about others beliefs/religions, just post what you have to say about your own religion/ beliefs.

I'm secular...pretty much explains it all.

But I've been influenced by Buddhism because my family are Buddhists and I view it as a philosophy.

I believe to follow your heart, your own path and not the laws of religion. Live life, be good to others and have faith in yourself because its much stronger than anything.

And if there is a God, I believe that it does not have a religion, just a higher being in the universe. Also, I had this thought in my mind for years: if God exist, who or what created God? Because everything has to be created...

I'd like to start off this post by saying that Buddhism as a philosophy is excellent, in my opinion. I have looked into Buddhism some, and depending on what happens down the road, I may return to it.

The philosophy that best describes my view is Existentialism (which is actually quite similar to Buddhism in some respects). I do not believe in a god, and am somewhat of a moral relativist. I also believe that we have an inherently meaningless existence, and must give meaning to our own lives. I think this scares some people, because they get rather angered when I bring it up (although forcing their own silly religion down my throat doesn't anger me; it's amusing )

I'm also a fan of Darwin, and evolution, because there is definite proof of evolution, and all the people who deny this (the proof, not evolution itself) seem to have a "hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil" policy.

And, as a final side note, I find people who are reluctant to have a nice debate about their religous/philosophical views usually have an untenable position (or at least one they themselves are not able to properly defend). Basically, people are not able to discuss religion because many people have an uneducated viewpoint (they are religious because they were told to be, or as previously said, not religious because they were simply rebelling). It doesn't matter which side, if you look hard enough, there will be both good and bad arguments, for and against.

All that said, PM me if you want to have a decent, intelligent debate

hmm... I'm not fond of religion, but I do believe that religions have factions and make war for bad reasons to make the world more strained and less peaceful...

However, I do believe in spirits, other species and 'Gods and Demons', but the truth of the fact is we're ALL demons and we can do whatever we want until the Demons who think they're 'God' come in and ruin everything for everyone.

I'm just making a point, I don't want any flaming about this post either, otherwise I fear the sanity of the planet is reaching a descent into chaos...

I don't believe at all, but that's probably because I don't care very much. I am open for everything, but it must make sense and I can't seem to associate 'sense' with humanity, yet.

Edit: Do I make any sense =P?

Why does everything have to be created? We all know that's impossible, because who created the creator? That will lead to an endless list of possible answers.

maybe there was a 'Great War' before our universe existed? Who knows?

The answer could be 42 or 48...

I don't think the discussion of creation and creator are bad in this thread because it's more about God in general than an actual religion but be careful guys.

I can't believe.. I'm like some people in here that there is something...maybe out there wether it be a noodle monster.. a spirit a 4th dimensional being (Thanks dood that really made me think and relax a bit =) ) or what ever but I think for sure that yes spirits exist, as well something that gives us humans meaning..

I won't be complicated. I'll keep this simple.

Now we all have those question.. which lead to errors in religions (Former Ruling posted about this not making a response trying to use as an resouce) and that is true.. but I know someone who has read a lot of different 'bibles' from different religions and they all somewhat have the same thing.

There is a God/dess named or not who created this universe and there are two people (Adam Eve etc..) and then moves on from there..

Religions are all the same in their sense of there is a someone up there who guides us helps us and trusts us even though s/he created us to be sinful thankful and influenced very easily. The difference seems to lie within the RULES and the little tidbits of facts. So I think it's funny how people go batsh*t over proving their belief..

It's like an AMD Fanboy versus an Intel Lover... People could show that AMD is better but Intel people can pick at their errors but see nothing wrong with their product. (replace the processors with different anologies if ya want) And then there comes a third party processor and AMD and Intel look down on it and etc..

Humans want to be right...that's how they are when they have "faith" in their religion.. So I think (Stormcrow said once) that "god" is a security blanket same with the bible... I don't take it literal.. I think it's a guide... and I've notice more and more people accept that more than their ancestors who went word for word.

I actually made it more complicated... sorry.. PM if ya like but I don't mind an open post to my response cause I I'm interested what others have to say..

And also sorry if I used anyones thoughts into this I just wanted to make it as a resource.. I will personally edit it out just let me know.
